BY TC News Desk

Agartala, 29th February 2024 :  In an alarming turn of events, the usually vibrant and lively scenes of migratory birds flocking to Sukh Sagar reservoir in Udaipur have taken a somber turn. Reports have emerged of the untimely deaths of several migratory birds, raising concerns among both locals and wildlife enthusiasts.

The incidents began unfolding at Jagannath Dighi, where on Thursday morning, migratory birds were observed frolicking on the banks before inexplicably falling to their demise. Similar instances of bird fatalities have been reported from various reservoirs and ponds in Udaipur.

While speculation about the cause of these mysterious deaths is rife, one prevailing theory suggests that the birds may have come from regions already infected with diseases, subsequently contracting the ailment after interacting with their counterparts in Udaipur. However, it’s worth noting that similar incidents have been documented in previous years from various locations.

The perplexing situation has prompted demands from the concerned public for a thorough inquiry by officials from the Animal Husbandry and Forest Department. Many are seeking answers to unravel the mystery behind the sudden and widespread deaths of these migratory birds.

Local authorities are urged to launch a comprehensive investigation to determine the cause of these fatalities, considering the potential impact on both the migratory bird population and the local ecosystem. As Udaipur gears up for spring, there is a collective hope that swift action will be taken to address the concerns and ensure the well-being of the migratory bird community in the region.
