Agartala, 14th March 2024: In a tragic incident on Thursday, a fierce blaze reduced a residence to ashes in Ward No. 15 of Kailasahar Municipal Council, triggering widespread panic among the local populace. The fire department was swiftly alerted and units were dispatched to the scene, where they battled the conflagration for an extended period before finally extinguishing it.
Shyamoli Devi, the homeowner, reported that the fire originated from a gas cylinder while preparations for Vishnu Puja were underway. Despite her immediate cries for help, which rallied the neighbors, and the prompt notification of the fire services, the flames rapidly spread throughout the dwelling.
By the time the fire engines arrived, the inferno had intensified, posing a significant challenge to the firefighters. After a prolonged and arduous effort, the fire brigade succeeded in bringing the fire under control. However, the damage was extensive, with Devi lamenting that the living room and all its contents were completely consumed by the fire.
