East Agartala police station apprehends three notorious thieves along with stolen bikes

Agartala, 28th March 2024 :   The East Agartala police station successfully arrested three notorious thieves and seized two stolen bikes from their possession. A police officer highlighted that interrogation of the suspects could potentially reveal valuable information about the wider gang involved in such criminal activities.

The investigation stemmed from a case reported on March 26 by a resident of Khowai, who had his bike stolen from Maharajganj market. Following this incident, multiple complaints of bike theft surfaced from various locations. Prompted by these reports, the police initiated a thorough investigation.

Acting on undisclosed intelligence, the police conducted raids across different locations, ultimately leading to the apprehension of the primary suspects linked to the theft gang.

During the course of the investigation, CCTV footage from Maharajganj Bazar identified a young man named Tuton Das in connection with the theft. Subsequently, Das was arrested and brought in for questioning. His interrogation revealed the identities of two additional members of the thief gang, leading to their swift arrest.

The police confiscated two stolen bikes from the apprehended individuals as evidence. The successful operation underscores the police department’s commitment to combating crime and ensuring the safety of residents under East Agartala police station area.
