Pakistani navy foils drug trafficking bid in Arabian Sea

Date:

The Pakistani navy foiled a drug trafficking bid in the North Arabian Sea and recovered a huge cache of narcotics, the country’s military said.

The operation to seize the narcotics was carried out during a regional maritime security patrol on Tuesday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military’s media wing, said in the statement.

The seized drugs were worth thousands of dollars in the international market, the statement added.

Naval warships of the Pakistani Navy regularly perform duties on regional maritime security patrols to prevent drug smuggling, piracy, and human trafficking at sea, the ISPR said.
