UP: Three of a family killed in Ghazipur

Date:

) Three members of a family were killed by slitting their throats in the Nandganj area of Ghazipur district here in Uttar Pradesh, a senior police officer said here on Monday.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Omvir Singh said the incident took place in Mauja village where Munshi Bind (45), his wife Devanti (40) and son Ramashish (20) were killed while they were sleeping. “While Munshi and his wife were sleeping in the hut outside the house, Ramashish was sleeping inside the house. Their throats were slit with a sharp-edged weapon by unidentified miscreants,” he said.

He said that the incident came to fore when Munshi’ younger son Ashish came back home late in the night and found his father and mother lying in the pool of blood. “When Ashish rushed inside the house to wake his elder brother, he found Ramashish also lying in the pool of blood,” he said.

The SP said that prima facie it seemed to be planned murders as all the deceased were attacked on their throat. “The bodies have been sent for postmortem examination and teams have been constituted to work out the case,” he said.
