Agartala, 7th August 2024:  Daljit Singh Chawdhary, the Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF), is set to arrive in Tripura on Wednesday. His visit comes amid concerns over the current situation in Bangladesh.

According to sources within the BSF, Chawdhary’s visit is part of a broader inspection tour of Indian states bordering Bangladesh. Having already visited West Bengal, he is scheduled to assess various border areas in Tripura, which shares an 856 km international border with Bangladesh.

During his visit, Chawdhary is expected to inspect locations including the Kailashahar Sub-division in Unakoti District, Akhaura in West District, and the Srimanta Integrated Check Post in Sepahijala District. The purpose of these visits is to review the security measures in place and ensure the readiness of BSF personnel.

In addition to his inspections, Chaudhary is likely to meet with senior officials from the Tripura Police and the state’s Chief Secretary. He will also hold discussions with BSF officials stationed in Tripura to evaluate the border security situation, particularly in light of the volatile circumstances in Bangladesh.
