Officer-in-Charge of GRP at Agartala Railway Station, Tapas Das, shared that a tip-off was received regarding the arrival of Bangladeshi nationals who had illegally entered India. “We detained 14 individuals at the station. Among them, 11 are Bangladeshi nationals who unlawfully entered the state, intending to travel to Gujarat and Tamil Nadu in search of work. Additionally, three Indian touts who were facilitating their movement have also been arrested,” Das said.

The police seized mobile phones, as well as both Indian and Bangladeshi currency, from the suspects. According to preliminary interrogations, the Bangladeshi nationals, hailing from Khagrachari and Narail districts, admitted they had entered the country in search of employment.
