Collaboration of Education and SW&SE departments: Special meeting held on “Mission Mukul”

Agartala, 25th September 2024:    National Education Policy-2020 gives highest priority on the academic, social, emotional and physical wellbeing of 3 to 6 year age group children, to ensure their all-round development. Focusing on this Ministry of Education, Govt. of India adopted “NIPUN Mission” and for proper implement of this in the state, Department is taking several initiatives to ensure quality education for pre-primary to grade-2. But those children who are growing in the Anganwadi Centers if can’t covered under the umbrella of NEP-2020 then the goal of NIPUN will remain unattained. To solve this issue another initiative naming “Mission Mukul” has already been started in the state. Under this Mission Mukul a maximum of 3 Anganwadi Centers around 1.5Km of a school will be tagged with that school to monitor the learning process of the children of those Anganwadi centers. So that the children will be able to receive education in same pace like a school.

For effective and fast implementation of this mission mukul through out the state yesterday a joint meeting was held in Pragna Bhawan between Elementary Education under School Education Department and Social welfare and social education Department. The meeting was graced by the presence of Director School Education, Director Social welfare and social education, Joint Director of Social welfare and social education, Deputy Director of Elementary Education and Branch officer of Pre-primary cum NIPUN Tripura Cell Abhijit Samajpati. DEOs and DISE of eight Districts, Inspector of schools and CDPOs attended the meeting and raised the various issues regarding implementation of Mukul. The welcome address was delivered by Deputy Director of Elementary Education Rudradeep Nath.

Director, Elementary Education, N.C. Sharma in his address appealed for joint approach of the officers and officials of both Education and Social Welfare Department to implement the mission mukul in best possible way. Education department is extending their hand to co-operate social welfare department for ground level implementation of the mission. He addressed the IS and CDPOs to work jointly for faster implementation of the mission.

Director, Social Welfare and Social Education, Tapan Kr. Das thanked the education department for arranging such kind of meeting. He expected that from yesterday’s meeting the issues facing by the officers in district level could be minimized. So that this meeting will accelerate the process of ground level implementation. He mentioned that if a child had to be grown as competent citizen of the nation,then he or she must need good education along with good care. Mission Mukul will help the children to get familiar with the school environment and so, it will reduce the chance of drop out in coming days.

Joint Director, Social Welfare and Social Education, Dr. Chandrani Biswas appreciated the idea of Mission Mukul. She presented the schemes adopted by Social welfare Department for Anganwadi childrens. She mentioned that already mission mukul started working well in many blocks and soon the uncovered portions have to be covered under the mission.

Branch officer of Pre-primary cum NIPUN Tripura Cell, Abhijit Samajpati, presented the objectives of Mission Mukul, already taken steps and future planning for the mission in details. He mentioned that as with implementation of this mission mukul the Anganwadi children are going to be jointly monitored by both Education and Social Welfare Department, so, it will enhance the scope of all round development of children. In this mission apart from school teachers and Anganwadi workers major role will be played by the IS and CDPOs.

Within few days the training of CDPOs, BRC Co-ordinators and Academic leaders will be organized as an initiative of the Directorate of Elementary Education. A fund of Rs.16 lac has been sanctioned for this purpose. SCERT was given responsibility to conduct the training. The total training programme will be organized in two phased for five days each. Afterward the CDPOs will train the Anganwadi workers for effective implementation of Mukul.
