Bhavan’s Kala Kendra organises 2nd Annual Prize giving ceremony

Agartala, 8th October 2024:  Bhavan’s Kala Kendra, the art and cultural wing of BTVM, held its 2nd Annual Prize-Giving Ceremony on Tuesday at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, starting at 5:30 PM. Although Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury was unable to attend as the chief guest, he conveyed his best wishes to the event. The occasion was graced by Bibhash Kanti Kilildar, Lokayukta of Tripura, and Udayshankar Bhattacharjee, Chairman of Aurobindo Society and a prominent cultural figure, as guests of honour. Renowned musical artist Parmita Reang attended as a special invitee.

In a highlight of the day, Saumyendra Nandy, an eminent cultural personality, was felicitated by Swapna Shome, Principal of BTVM, and Debashis Chakraborty, Chairman of Bhavan’s Agartala Kendra. The event commenced with the traditional lighting of the sacred lamp, setting the tone for a vibrant cultural evening.

The program featured a variety of performances, including yoga, music, songs, and dances by students and parents of the Bhavan’s family. The distinguished guests also distributed prizes to the winners of various competitions organized by Kala Kendra.

Adding to the celebratory spirit, an Art and Crafts stall showcased the creative works of the students. Blessings and words of encouragement were offered by Debashis Chakraborty (Retd. IFS), Chairman of BVB Agartala Kendra. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Pompi Majumdar, Headmistress of BTVM.
