Stage set for polling in 288 assembly seats & lone by-election in Nanded lok sabha seat

All preparation have been completed for tomorrow’s (November 20 ) polling in all the 288 assembly constituencies and lone by- election in Nanded lok sabha constituency in the state.

According to the State Election Commission office sources ,over 9.7 crore eligible registered voters which includes above 5 crore male, 4.68 crore female and 6101 transgenders will decide the fate of 4136 candidates contesting election.

The ECI has set up 1,00427polling stations equipped with 1,64,996 ballot units, 1,19,439 control units, and 128531 VVPAT machines for the smooth conduct of the elections.

The election will witness a direct fight between Mahayuti and Mahavikas Aghadi everywhere. While Vanchit Bahujan Agadhi (VBA) ,BSP,AIMIM and some of the smaller parties also put challenge before the both of the front.

Prominent candidates contesting election included Chief Minister Eknath Shinde(Shiv Sena) , Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis(BJP) Ajit Pawar(NCP) ,Aditya Thackeray(UBT), Amit Thackeray(MNS), Dhanananay Munde(NCP) ,Rohit Pawar (NCP-SP),Yugendra Pawar (NCP-SP) ,Vijay Wadettiwar(Cong), Bala Nandgaonkar(MNS), Bacchu Kadu(Mahaparivartan Agadhi), Prithviraj Chavan (Cong) ,Dilip Valse Patil (NCP-AP), Jitendra Awahd(NCP-SP), Radhakrishna Vike Patil(BJP) among others.

Prime minister Narendra Modi ,Union minister Nitin Gadkari, NCP-SP chief Sharad Pawar, Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge, Jayant Patil, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, MP Chief Minister Mohan Yadav ,Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde , MPCC President Nana Patole ,Dy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis , Ajit Pawar ,UBT Chief Uddhav Thackeray, Aditya Thackeray, MNS Chief Raj Thackeray ,VBA chief Prakash Ambedkar , Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy were among several leaders addressed elections rallies ,press conferences despite soaring heat .

Election material being distributing this morning from district and taluka headquarters to the concern election employees in these constituencies and later they will proceed to their destination, said sources.

Meanwhile, security has been beefed up across the state. CRPF personnel were posted in sensitive polling stations to ensure smooth conduct of the elections.

So far, the areas have remained peaceful and no untoward incident was reported from these constituencies during the campaigning, police sources said.
