Agartala, 23rd November 2024:  The Tripura Rajya Karmachari Sangha Khowai Branch submitted a deputation to School Inspector PK Debbarma outlining a ten-point demand aimed at addressing various challenges faced by schools in the Khowai block.

According to the Sangha, schools in the Khowai block are grappling with increasing obstacles that hinder teaching and learning, as well as improvements in school infrastructure and academic subjects. These issues, they argue, pose significant challenges under the new education policy and could have a considerable impact on current and future generations.

The memorandum highlighted several key demands. “At present, many schools are facing irregular classes due to a shortage of teachers. It is essential to redistribute teachers from schools with surplus staff to those with shortages,” the Sangha stated. They also emphasized the urgency of providing grants to the primary sections of double-shift schools under separate conditions.

Specific demands included relocating science teachers from schools with an excess to those lacking them, redistributing group D staff where needed, and providing proper training for teachers to ensure the smooth operation of smart classes. Additionally, the Sangha called for the demolition and reconstruction of the old IS office building, which was declared a demerit.

“We have outlined these demands to improve the quality of education and infrastructure in our schools,” said Nirmal Chandra Ghosh, a member of the delegation. The Sangha believes that these changes are critical for the successful implementation of the new education policy.

The delegation of eight members included Nirmal Chandra Ghosh, Pradip Kumar Nath, Suman Chandra Nath, Alak Das, Nirdal Rudra Pal, Shatadal Roy among others. They stressed the importance of addressing these issues promptly to ensure a better educational environment for students.

The School Inspector PK Debbarma acknowledged the concerns and assured that steps would be taken to address the demands. “We understand the challenges and will work towards finding solutions that benefit both teachers and students,” Debbarma stated.

This proactive approach by the Tripura Rajya Karmachari Sangha highlights the ongoing efforts to enhance the educational scenario in the Khowai block, ensuring that schools are better equipped to meet the needs of their students and staff.
