Fire destroys six shops at Shanichhara Bazar in Churaibari

Agartala, 29th November 2024:   A devastating fire late last night in Churaibari Shanichhara Bazar has left six shops burnt to ashes, causing widespread panic in the area. The incident was reported to the fire brigade, which rushed to the scene to battle the flames.

According to a firefighter on the scene, the initial assessment suggests that the fire started from a gas cylinder. “Locals witnessed the fire in one of the shops and immediately informed us,” the firefighter stated. “However, by the time we arrived, the flames had already spread extensively.”

The firefighting efforts involved a long and arduous battle by both the locals and the fire brigade to bring the blaze under control. “The damage caused by the fire is estimated to be more than 12 lakh taka,” the firefighter added, noting the extensive losses suffered by the shop owners.
