Agartala, 4th December 2024: A tragic incident took place in Ward No. 4 of Kailashahar Srinathpur Gram Panchayat when a man named Nanu Mia was crushed under a tree while cutting it down.
It is reported that, Nanu Mia and two others were cutting a 150-feet tall tree in Ward No. 4 of Yajekhaora Gram Panchayat. As they attempted to pull the tree down, it suddenly fell on Nanu Mia, causing his immediate death. Locals informed the fire brigade, who transported him to Kailashahar District Hospital. The police from Kailashahar Irani Police Station also rushed to the scene upon receiving the news.
Nanu Mia, who had converted to Islam, lived in the ward with his wife and their four children. He was the sole breadwinner for his family. Upon hearing of his death, his family members were devastated.
Local residents described Nanu Mia as a polite and good person, and have called on the government and social organizations to provide financial assistance to his family during this difficult time.
