Agartala: September 24. The 10, 323 teachers today have decided to organize a protest march till Assembly on September 26 demanding to take necessary steps to bring back the jobs of the sacked teachers.Addressing a press conference this evening in front of Agartala Press Club, Bijay Krishna Saha one of the 10, 323 teachers said that on last September 21, demand was made to the members of the Legislative Assembly to take a decision in the assembly to send 10,323 dismissed teachers back to school.

“The Condition of the 10, 323 teachers are very critical. We have no money to buy food and to do something for our children. So far 139 dismissed teachers have passed away. The Assembly elections are coming and the government should take a decision in the Assembly session on September 23 to take a favorable role for us”, he said.

Expressing displeasure over the role of government, the teachers have said, “It is very unexpected that no decisions or discussion were held regarding us”.He said that the dismissed teachers were shocked. He further said that after a day-long marathon meeting unanimously decided to hold a protest march democratically on September 26 which will be known as ‘Bidhansabha Chalo Abhiyan’. “Bidhan Sabha Chalo Abhiyan will be organized in front of the Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan on September 26. On that day the march will be conducted in a democratic manner” he said.

He also demanded the members of the opposition party to raise the issue of dismissed teachers in the assembly session on Monday.“So that the government will be forced to take a supportive role in favour of 10, 323”, he said.
