Two injured in road accident at Boxanagar

Agartala, 24th February 2025:  A road accident at Boxanagar left two individuals injured. The incident took place today at around 2 PM in front of Oxford International School in Boxanagar. Eyewitnesses reported that a Tata Zest private car bearing registration number TR07B-0580 heading from Bishalgarh to Boxanagar collided from behind with an auto-rickshaw bearing registration number TR07A-3821. Both vehicles overturned as a result of the collision.

The injured were identified as auto driver Saiful Islam from Nayanjala and private car driver Sushil Sutradhar. Upon receiving the information, Kalamchoura police station staff promptly arrived at the scene and shifted the injured to Boxanagar Community Health Center. After providing initial treatment, the attending doctors referred both individuals to Tripura Medical College & Dr BR Ambedkar Teaching Hospital for advanced care.

Shyam Debbarma, in charge of Boxanagar CHC stated that auto driver Saiful Islam suffered severe injuries and is in critical condition. The police have initiated an investigation into the accident to determine the cause of the collision.
