Residents of Bhagaban Nagar protest over prolonged water crisis

Agartala, 10th March 2025 :   Residents of Wards 2 and 3 in Bhagaban Nagar Gram Panchayat have been grappling with a severe drinking water crisis for over a month. The disruption in water supply has significantly impacted their daily lives, leading to widespread distress.

In response, locals staged a protest this morning blocking the Kailashahar-Dharmanagar National Highway. Protesters expressed their frustration stating that despite informing the Panchayat head about the issue, no effective measures were taken. The blockade began at 9 AM caused traffic disruptions and added to the inconvenience.

By noon, the protest was called off following assurances from the booth president, who promised to arrange temporary water supply for the affected residents. However, the locals have urged the administration to take concrete steps to resolve the crisis permanently.
