Agartala, 8th April 2025:   In a shocking incident on Tuesday morning, Rozina Akhter, a housewife from the Tilla area of Ghanimara Panchayat in Bishalgarh and her young son were allegedly assaulted by Tripura state police officer Sabir Ahmed also known as Liton Majumder and his wife.

Eyewitnesses reported that the Fire department was alerted and promptly arrived at the scene to rescue the victims. “We found the housewife and her child in a severely injured state,” said a fire department staff member. Both were rushed to Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital, where Rozina Akhter is currently fighting for her life, while her child is undergoing treatment.

The incident has sparked outrage among local residents. “How can a man of law take the law into his own hands?” questioned one resident, demanding strict action against the accused officer and his wife.

Police from Bishalgarh police station visited the scene following the incident. However, locals remain skeptical about whether justice will be served. “We want accountability. This cannot be ignored,” said another resident.
