All India Imam Organization protests damage to religious institutions over Waqf Bill

Agartala, 19th April 2025:   The All India Imam Organization staged a protest against the recent attacks on religious institutions across the state and beyond, allegedly linked to the contentious Waqf Bill. The organization condemned the incidents and urged the government to take immediate steps to restore peace and harmony in the area.

Addressing a press conference, the organization state president Yasin Mia demanded assistance for the injured victims, support for affected families and reparations for damaged religious institutions particularly those belonging to minority communities. Members also announced their intention to approach the Sadar District Magistrate to address their concerns.

President Mia was accompanied by Secretary Siraj Uddin Ahmed and local committee member Farukul Islam. The leaders emphasized the need for unity and swift action to prevent further unrest.
