Agartala, 24th April 2025: Acting on a secret tip-off, police officials conducted a raid at a residence in the Bailamura area of Chikancherra village under Jampuijala leading to the recovery of 41 kg of dried cannabis. The contraband was concealed underground in three drums. However, no arrests were made in connection with the incident.
According to police sources, the raid was carried out at the house of Nasir Uddin, where officers from Bishramganj Police Station led by OC Subimal Debnath, second OC Mithun Saha and IPS Venkat Ram participated in the operation.
Despite the recovery of the drugs, the suspected dealers managed to flee before the police arrived, allegedly after receiving advance warning. Reports suggest that information about the raid was leaked by certain police personnel, enabling the suspects to evade capture.
