Republican Party of India organizes 2-days mass sit-in demonstration

Agartala Nov 01: Pressing for a total of 10 charter points of demands, the Republican Party of India (Athawale), Tripura State Committee organized a two-day mass sit-in protest in Jackson Gate area of the capital city.

On the first day of the 2-day protest program leaders and activists of the party demanded the state government to immediately implement the demands with utmost priority.

Talking about the demands raised on behalf of the organization, Ananta Debbarma, Working President RPI(A), Tripura said, “Our demands include full implementation of MoU signed through a Tripartite agreement between the Central Govt., Govt. of Tripura and leaders of returnees, allocation of housing and social pension to all the genuine beneficiaries, fixing up of problems like load shedding, restoration of roads, release of pending DA, to resolve the rising issues of unemployment, women related crimes and many more”.

Issues like publication of JRBT results, recruitment of TET qualified youths were also raised in the protest demonstration.The leaders and members of the party warned to block the national highway and protest in a larger way if the demands are not met immediately.
