State Government spends Rs 585 crore under MNREGA in state

Agartala: November 02. The State government has spent Rs 585 crore across the state till November 02 under the MNREGA scheme.

Addressing a press conference this afternoon Special Secretary of the Department of Rural Development Dr Sandir Rathore said that the state has achieved 99.26 percent success in terms of the percentage in timely payment of wages to workers under this scheme whereas the national average value is 95.11 percent.

“Rs 585.95 crore has been spent in the entire state till November 2, 2022, under the MNREGA scheme. The state has achieved 99.26 percent success in terms of percentage in timely payment of wages to workers under this scheme whereas the national average value is 95.11 percent”, he said.

He further said that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Rural Scheme, the state has approved the construction of 2 lakh 28 thousand 411 Pucca Awas during the last financial year.

“Rs 2 thousand 61 crore 80 lakh have been spent on house construction in the last financial year from April till now. While Rs 239 crore 50 lakh rupees were spent for this before the financial year 2018-19. Among the houses built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Rural Scheme, electricity has been provided to 92 percent of the houses, drinking water to 77 percent of the houses, LPG etc. to 77 percent of the houses”, he added.
