Agartala, 6th May 2025: In a relief effort for farmers impacted by the August 2024 floods, the state and central governments have jointly provided financial assistance under the National Disaster Relief Fund (NDRF) scheme. The aid disbursed via Direct Bank Transfer (DBT) aims to ensure quick and transparent relief to affected individuals.
A total of 2,100 farmers received financial grants at a special event held at Boxanagar Town Hall today. Organized by the Boxanagar Agriculture Subdivision, the function saw the presence of MLA Tafajjal Hossain, who served as the chief guest.
Addressing the gathering, Hossain emphasized the collective responsibility to support farmers during crises. “It is our moral and social duty to stand by those affected by natural disasters. This collaborative effort ensures swift and transparent assistance,” he stated.
MLA Hossain was accompanied by Boxanagar Agriculture Superintendent Subrata Debnath, Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Swapna Nama, Vice Chairperson Selina Akhter and social worker Anil Das.
