Sindoor is combination of Modi’s resolve, military might and precise intelligence: Shah

Date:

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday said Operation Sindoor is the result of a powerful combination of Prime Minister Modi’s strong political resolve, formidable capabilities of the armed forces, and precise intelligence provided by the agencies.

Speaking at the BSF Investiture Ceremony and Rustamji Memorial Lecture here, the Home Minister said Operation Sindoor had exposed Pakistan’s continued support for terrorism.

Referring to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the Home Minister said, “The attack crossed all limits. Innocent tourists were brutally killed by terrorists after being asked about their religion, right in front of their families.”

He emphasised, “In Operation Sindoor, we only destroyed the terrorist bases but Pakistan considered the attack on terrorists as an attack on itself. This only showed that Pakistan supports terrorism”.

Praising the bravery of the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Indian Army, Shah said, “The world has witnessed the unmatched courage displayed by our forces during Operation Sindoor.”

Highlighting BSF’s long history of valour, Shah recalled its significant role in the 1971 war and the creation of Bangladesh. “The BSF has always been the first line of defence, fulfilling its duty under the harshest conditions. The nation will never forget its sacrifices,” he stated.

On the occasion, the Home Minister also honoured the personnel with gallantry awards.

Also present at the event were Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, BSF Director General Daljit Singh Chawdhary, Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Kumar Deka, and other senior officials.
