Agartala, 23rd May 2025:   A shy monkey, typically found deep in forests unexpectedly appeared at the doorstep of Suraj Ali’s residence in Ward No. 2 of Jubarajnagar Gram Panchayat late last night causing a stir among local residents.

Ali’s family managed to trap the elusive primate but faced difficulties in contacting the forest department due to the absence of a contact number. Despite the family’s efforts, officials had not reached the location by Friday morning, leading to frustration among community members.

Notably, the shy monkey is a protected and endangered species. Experts attribute its sudden appearance in a residential area to ongoing forest destruction, which is forcing wildlife into human settlements. Concerned residents are urging the forest department to take immediate action to address the situation and prevent further disruption.
