Employees face salary delays amid financial dispute between Synergy and Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission

Agartala, 17th June 2025:   Employees working under a private company associated with the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) have reportedly been deprived of six months’ salary across three districts including Gomati. Despite repeated attempts to resolve the issue, no action has been taken leaving staff in financial distress.

According to sources, the situation stems from a contractual agreement established in April 2023 between TRLM and Synergy, a Delhi-based private enterprise. Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Synergy was expected to implement broiler chicken and pig farming projects in Gomati and two other districts of Tripura. Initially, operations commenced smoothly and veterinary doctors and other personnel were appointed at the block level. However, salary disbursements gradually became inconsistent resulting in employees receiving payments in partial installments or experiencing prolonged delays.

Workers allege that the company has cited financial struggles due to a lack of funding from TRLM’s head office. Synergy representatives reportedly stated that operational challenges have intensified as the mission has not facilitated expected financial transactions, leading to cash flow constraints. Employees further claim that bureaucratic obstacles within TRLM are hindering the rural development efforts, particularly impacting self-help groups aiming for economic independence.

While affected employees continue to seek resolution, no formal intervention has been announced by either Synergy or TRLM. The issue has raised concerns regarding the accountability of private entities in government-affiliated livelihood projects and the broader implications on rural economic initiatives.
