Agartala, 24th June 2025:   A CPIM delegation led by Leader of the Opposition Jitendra Chaudhury visited Karaimura in Bishalgarh this morning to meet the family of party worker Mosharraf Hossain, who was reportedly attacked on June 17. The team also stopped by the CPIM sub-divisional office, which was allegedly targeted during the same incident.

The visiting delegation included Left Front convener Manik Dey and CPIM Bishalgarh sub-divisional secretary Partha Pratim Majumdar. According to CPIM sources, a group of miscreants vandalized the party’s local office on June 17 and damaged several motorcycles. The violence allegedly extended to the residence of Mosharraf Hossain, where extensive looting and destruction were reported in broad daylight.

The victim’s family informed the opposition leader that the attackers blocked the road from both ends and allegedly opened fire before looting valuables, including cash, jewellery and clothing, and fleeing with the stolen items in a vehicle.

Responding to the family’s grievances, Chaudhury assured them that he would raise the matter with the Director General of Police. He also urged the administration to take immediate and decisive steps to restore the rule of law in Bishalgarh, citing concerns over the deteriorating law and order situation.
