12 Bangladeshi Nationals Detained in city

Agartala, 4th August 2024:    In a joint operation, the Tripura Police and Border Security Force (BSF) have detained 12 Bangladeshi nationals in Agartala. A source within the Tripura Police, who requested anonymity, reported that the arrests were made during raids conducted late Saturday night in various areas near the city’s border. The 12 detainees include 9 men and 3 women, all of whom had crossed into Tripura illegally. The police have registered a case against them, and Bangladeshi currency was found in their possession.

The detained individuals have been presented before the court, with the authorities seeking police remand to facilitate further investigation. The Tripura Police emphasized their commitment to preventing illegal infiltration and are actively working to curb such activities.
