Agartala, 10th December 2025: The Padmabil Block saw a major outreach effort today with the distribution of assistive devices valued at more than Rs 15.15 lakh to persons with disabilities and senior citizens from 17 ADC villages.
The camp, held at the Padmabil Block premises, was organised jointly by L-M-Co Company and the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. Block Officer Amit Kumar Jamatia, Block Advisory Committee Chairman Prashanta Debbarma, representatives of L-M-Co, and block officials were present during the programme.
A total of 184 beneficiaries received wheelchairs, battery-operated rickshaws, and various other assistive tools, all provided free of cost. Officials stated that the initiative is part of an ongoing effort to promote social justice and improve the quality of life for individuals facing mobility and physical limitations.
Residents welcomed the programme, noting that the support will significantly enhance mobility, independence, and livelihood prospects. Many expressed appreciation for the government’s intervention, saying the devices will help beneficiaries participate more actively in community and economic activities.
