Agartala, 18th May 2026: A heartbreaking incident has been reported in which a two-and-a-half-year-old girl, identified as Sadbika Sahu, drowned in a drain while playing with another child. Her father has been identified as Dharmendra Sahu.
According to reports, the incident took place in the Pragati Road area when the child was playing near a local drain (Katakhal) with another child. In an unfortunate turn of events, she slipped into the water and was swept away.
Following an extensive search operation, the child’s body was later recovered near the Durga Chowmuhani bridge area. She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
