Agartala, 10th December 2025: The fourth National Lok Adalat of the year will be held across Tripura on December 13, 2025. Organized under the aegis of the Tripura State Legal Services Authority, the special sitting will take place not only at the Tripura High Court but also in all district and sub-divisional court complexes.
A total of 60 benches will hear 34,709 cases for settlement. These include 29,093 pending cases and 5,616 pre-litigation disputes.
The National Lok Adalat will take up 337 cases related to motor accident compensation, along with 226 matrimonial disputes. It will also hear 4,255 cases concerning bank loan repayment and 1,361 disputes over BSNL bill payments.
In addition, there are 28,419 compoundable criminal matters under the MB Act, TP Act, TG Act, and Excise Act. The benches will also address 40 cheque bounce cases under the NI Act, 49 civil suits, and one land acquisition case.
Further, the list includes four TS (EC) matters, seven GC cases, and ten employment-related disputes.
At the Tripura High Court, one bench will specifically hear 23 cases.
Notices have already been issued to both parties involved in the cases. Justice T Amarnath Gaud, Executive Chairman of the Tripura State Legal Services Authority, has directed necessary measures to ensure the success of the Lok Adalat.
Member-Secretary Jhumpa Dutta Choudhury has urged litigants to take advantage of the opportunity for speedy, cost-free resolution of disputes.
