Agartala, July 29, 2022: In view of the 75th Independence Day event, five organizations comprising of CITU, AIKS, AIKMU, GMP and TTSS organized ‘Mahakuma Convention’ at CPIM Divisional Committee’s office here on Friday.

Speaking to reporters here, CPIM West Tripura district president Ratan Das said “In this convention, our agendas of discussion were- role of labourer and farmers on the context independence of India, role of Leftists and communists along with the role of RSS against the independence of India and what they are doing in the present situation of the country.”

“The Communists were the first to raise the voice of complete independence in 1921. Later, the Britishers had made various conspiracy cases against the communists like Peshawar, Kanpur, Neeraj, etc. Then they declared Communists as illegal. Communists were filled in the prisons. Thereafter Communists staged ‘Sramik-Andolan’, ‘Krishak Andolan’, etc. Later, ‘Krishak Andalon’ continued till 1947 against the Britishers and native princes, all those great histories were recollected in this convention”, he added.

Taking a jibe on the RSS-led BJP across the country, Das said “The RSS was involved in hatching conspiracy before the independence of India and now they are trying to pretend to be patriotic, which is leading to misguide the common people- this we want to expose in front of all. The party or organization which had no role during India’s independence, now they are trying to pretend as most patriotic and freedom fighters, it is completely false.”
