Agriculture Graduates Association contributes 3 Lakh for Manashree’s treatment; Ratan Lal Nath calls for collective support

Date:

Agartala, 30th April 2026 :   In a gesture of solidarity with little Manashree, who is battling the rare genetic disorder Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), the Agricultural Graduates Association under the Tripura Agriculture Department donated ₹3 lakh to her family on Thursday. The cheque was handed over to Manashree’s father in the presence of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare and Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath.

Speaking on the occasion, Nath said the initiative was taken by the Agricultural Graduates Association, which comprises officers of the Agriculture Department, following his appeal to extend support to the child. He also encouraged officers and employees of the department to contribute voluntarily according to their financial capacity, emphasising that every contribution counts in helping the family during this challenging time.

The Minister said the ₹3 lakh contribution is only the beginning, as the association is continuing its fundraising campaign. He expressed hope that the donation would convey a strong message of compassion and encourage others to come forward in support of Manashree.

Nath noted that efforts are being made at multiple levels to secure the child’s treatment. He said Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, various organisations and many well-wishers are all trying to help the family. While he has also extended personal assistance, the Minister stressed that the treatment requires widespread public participation.

Recalling the spirit of unity displayed by the people of Tripura during the COVID-19 pandemic, floods and other emergencies, Nath appealed to citizens to once again stand together. He urged people from all walks of life to lend a helping hand so that Manashree receives the treatment she urgently needs and can recover at the earliest.
