Agartala, 22nd May 2024 : The Chief Electoral Officer, Puneet Agarwal, today said that all necessary arrangements were made for the counting of Lok Sabha votes on June 04.CEO Agarwal said this after visiting inspecting one counting hall as well as a strong room which is Umakanta Academy at Agartala.
He said the count will be held on June 04 and all the necessary arrangements related to counting will be done before that time. “Works has already been started in all 60 counting halls located in 20 locations. Various steps have been taken to complete the counting work in each polling station while maintaining peace and order. Each counting center is equipped with a CCTV system, fire fighting system, 3 level security system as well as an uninterrupted power supply”, he said.
He further said that administrative officials as well as representatives of various political parties are reviewing the security arrangements of the strongrooms from time to time.
“No complaints related to to strongroom have been filed so far. There will be three layers of security, including CAPF, State Armed Force and Tripura Police. We are working to strengthen it more”, he said.
The Chief Election Officer expressed satisfaction with the various measures taken in the various strongrooms of the state.
Agarwal was accompanied by 1- Returning Officer of West Tripura Parliamentary Constituency as well as District Magistrate of West Tripura District and Dr. Vishal Kumar was also present.
