Agartala, 17th July 2024:  All Tripura Samgra Shiksha Ministerial Staff Organization has raised a complaint regarding the deprivation faced by its members. Organizing Secretary Suman Chandra Nath articulated the demands during a press conference held at the Agartala Press Club on Wednesday.

The complaint highlighted the tragic death of Sangita Sinha, an education worker, who passed away on July 12. Sinha was traveling to North Lalchari SB School on the back of a bike when she fell, sustaining severe head injuries. Despite being referred to GB Hospital from Dhalai District Hospital, she succumbed to her injuries on the way. Nath expressed deep sorrow that, even six days after the incident, no assistance or announcement had been made by the state government.

The organization pointed out that ministerial non-teaching staff, along with the entire education sector, have been experiencing long-term depression due to inadequate support. While other states in the country have regularized non-teaching staff and provided increased salaries, allowances, and job security up to 60 years of age, the staff in Tripura have been deprived of such benefits. They also noted that employees in other states receive various leaves, CPF, and EPF, which are not available to Tripura’s workers.

Nath emphasized that all staff possess the necessary qualifications for their positions, making regularization feasible. The organization demanded immediate government action, including, provision of a government job to a family member of the late Sangeeta Sinha, compensation of Rs. 10 lakhs to Sinha’s family, regularization of ministerial non-teaching staff in line with other states and fair DA, CA, medical allowance, and other benefits for regular employees.
