Agartala, October 27, 2022: Another instance of deadly attack has been reported at Chandan Mura area under Sonamura police station where six youths were beaten up by mob alleged to have been instigated by local MLA’s son and Panchayat member on Wednesday night.
It is reported that three young friends named Karnajit Das, Sushanta Dey and Sagar Das left their home for enjoying Kali Puja celebration on a motorcycle. They went to Kemtali and later on returning home from Kemtali after watching the puja, they halted around 150 metres away from the neighbouring village of MLA’s house in Chandan Mura to enjoy another puja.
Meanwhile, the members of an organizing committee were preparing for the idol ‘Dashami’. At that time, some miscreants from Chandan Mura village attacked the three friends with sticks, rods and beat them and also hit Karnajit Das brutally with a stick. Among them, one youth called his friends to save them from the attack. At that time, Mithun Malakar, Rakesh Das, Kanti Das and many others rushed to save them but they too could not escape from their hands. Miscreants also attacked them. They also alleged that Shyamal Das Panchayat member, MLA’s son Subrata Das was the mastermind of this attack. Three youths were seriously injured as a result of their attack.
In view of this incident, Sonamura filed a case in police station. The miscreants are alleged local MLA’s son Subrata Das, Badal Das, Ashish Barman, Panchayat member Shyamal Das, Partha Das (Barman), and Maran Das (Barman).
