Agartala, 9th March 2025:   Residents of Amarpur, one of the oldest subdivisions in the state have reiterated their demand for the establishment of another emission testing center in the sub-division. Despite repeated appeals, this long-standing demand has remained unfulfilled, leaving the public disheartened.

Over the years, the population in the Amarpur subdivision has seen a significant increase. Simultaneously, the number of vehicles, including motorcycles, private cars, and commercial vehicles, has surged abnormally. Consequently, people often have to wait in long queues at the sole emission testing center in the area, only to find it closed frequently. This recurring issue has added to the residents’ frustrations.

Given the rapid pace of development, locals have been emphasizing the necessity of setting up a second emission testing center in the heart of Amarpur. The current center which was established many years back struggles to meet the growing demands of the area’s residents, causing daily inconveniences.

Interestingly, while the number of petrol pumps in the subdivision has doubled in response to the growing population, the establishment of a new emission testing center has lagged behind. Hence, citizens from all walks of life have raised their voices, urging authorities to open another facility in the town soon.

All eyes are now on the higher authorities, as residents eagerly await decisive action on this matter.
