Agartala, 22nd August 2026 : Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumder has assured that the ongoing beautification and development work at the Chalaman Sangha pond area will be completed before Durga Puja.
Mayor Majumder inspected the site on Saturday along with Councillor Ratna Dutta and reviewed the progress of the project. He said considerable work has already been completed and efforts are underway to finish the remaining work at the earliest.
The Mayor acknowledged that residents may face temporary inconvenience during the renovation but assured them that the improved pond area would soon be opened to the public. He also interacted with local residents and club members.
Majumder said the AMC aims to undertake development works in coordination with citizens while prioritising public convenience and the beautification of localities.
