Agartala, 14th February 2025: In a significant humanitarian effort, Americares India Foundation and Agartala Abhay Mission have joined hands to provide aid to flood-affected families in Tripura. As part of their relief initiative, around 6,000 families impacted by the recent floods received special disaster response kits to help them cope with the aftermath.
On this day, nearly 300 families from six panchayat areas in the Sonamura sub-division region were provided with these essential kits at a relief distribution event held at Shobhapur Tehsil ground under Rabindranagar Panchayat. The kits contain vital supplies, including materials for setting up temporary shelters and necessary toiletries to assist those facing hardships due to the floods.
Shubhrajit Das, a prominent social worker from the area, expressed his gratitude to the members of Americares India Foundation and Agartala Abhay Mission for responding to his call and extending support to the affected families. He lauded their efforts and hoped for continued cooperation in such humanitarian initiatives.
Abhay Mission Secretary Sushmita Dey, who was present at the event, provided an overview of the various initiatives undertaken by the organization and detailed the collaboration with Americares India Foundation for distributing the relief materials. She emphasized the importance of collective efforts in disaster management and reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to supporting communities in need.
