Agartala, 29th September 2026 : Tripura Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy on Tuesday visited the Chandipur Anganwadi Centre in Ward No. 2 of Chandipur Assembly constituency as part of the nationwide ‘Angan Milan Seva’ programme.
Speaking during the visit, Roy said the initiative, being observed from September 25 to October 7 as part of the broader ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, is aimed at strengthening Anganwadi services at the grassroots level and creating greater awareness about maternal and child welfare.
He said the programme focuses on recognising the dedicated services of Anganwadi and ASHA workers while promoting child health, nutrition and regular monitoring of children’s height and weight. Nutritional support and community-oriented activities are also being organised for pregnant women and children under the initiative.
Roy said efforts are being made to bring families and local communities closer to maternal and child health programmes through awareness activities and greater public participation.
“A healthy and well-nourished childhood forms the foundation of a strong future,” Roy said, adding that the government is committed to making Anganwadi centres more people-centric and effective.
He further said emphasis is being placed on ensuring that welfare services reach marginalised sections of society and that grassroots institutions remain closely connected with the communities they serve.
The ‘Angan Milan Seva’ programme seeks to strengthen community participation in Anganwadi activities while highlighting the role of frontline workers in improving maternal and child health and nutrition.
