Agartala, 5th April 2026: In continuation of its commitment towards the welfare of troops and their families and the holistic development of the younger generation in the North East, Assam Rifles organised an awareness workshop for specially abled children in collaboration with Saksham NGO at Agartala.
The programme was conducted for troops of Assam Rifles, their families and parents and teachers of Assam Rifles Public Schools (ARPS) Agartala and Udaipur. Experts from Saksham NGO delivered an insightful session on recognising early symptoms and behavioural indicators associated with developmental and mental health challenges among children.
During the workshop, participants were sensitised about the importance of early identification, timely support and continuous monitoring of children’s mental well-being. The experts also introduced a mobile application designed to log and track the daily behavioural patterns and activities of children, enabling parents and teachers to monitor their mental health and seek timely professional intervention whenever required.
A total of 210 beneficiaries attended the session which was highly interactive. They appreciated the initiative for spreading awareness and equipping them with practical knowledge to better understand and support children with special needs.
Such initiatives reaffirm the commitment of Assam Rifles towards social responsibility, community welfare and the development of the North Eastern region, while also contributing towards nurturing and shaping the young generation for a brighter and more inclusive future.
