Assam Rifles holds day-long Specialist Medical Camp for BRU people at Ultacherra

Agartala, November 08: A one-day long Specialist Medical Camp for BRU refugee people were organized by the Radhanagar Battalion of 21st Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) on Tuesday at Ultachehra under Dhalai district.

The camp was organized in collaboration with H&FW Department and NGO- Probaha and it was inaugurated by the Commandant and Chief Medical Officer of Radhanagar Battalion.During the camp, a total of 552 refugees were screened and given free consultation along with free medicines and HIV test for 10 individuals were tested wherein all results were negative.

Objective of the camp was to give free medicine, medical advice and refer them for specialized treatment/surgery if required. Doctors have also carried out basic medical check of all refugees.Rehabilitation centre chief and all the refugees have expressed their gratitude to the Assam Rifles for their generous contribution in smooth rehabilitation of the Bru refugees.
