Agartala, 29th May 2025: In a significant gathering organized by the ATTF Returnees Group, a welcome meeting was held today at the Ampi Nagar community hall, drawing a large assembly of former ATTF and NLFT members along with indigenous residents from across the state.
The event was inaugurated by Ramachandraghat MLA Ranjit Debbarma, who emphasized the urgent need to address illegal migration concerns in Tripura. “We have conducted this program to generate awareness amidst the genuine citizens of Tripura over illegal infiltration, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have issued directives to identify and deport illegal migrants from Bangladesh and Myanmar within a 30-day timeframe,” he stated.
Debbarma further highlighted the impact of unauthorized migration, arguing that foreign entrants were unlawfully securing government benefits by obtaining documents through fraudulent means. “We have to stop them unitedly to save our land and secure our existence for future generations,” he urged.
Following the meeting, a mega rally was conducted on the Teliamura-Amarpur road, where participants voiced concerns over illegal migration. The demonstration saw enthusiastic participation from various indigenous communities.
Among the distinguished attendees were 23-Ampi Nagar Assembly Constituency MDC Sadagar Kalai, Ampi Block TMP President Sanjay Jamatia and social activist Devraj Jamatia, among others, reinforcing the collective demand for stronger action against unauthorized migration.
