Agartala, May 28, 2023: The auto-rickshaw drivers of Belonia Auto-Rickshaw Mazdoor Sangh, affiliated to the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, blocked the two roads of Belonia-Agartala and Belonia-Rajnagar on the north bank of the Bankar river here on Sunday.
The blockade lasted for more than two hours, the police intervened and temporarily lifted the blockade and normalized the traffic.

On the other hand, auto-rickshaw drivers complained that there is no CNG station in Belonia so they have to go to Udaipur which is about 45 kms away from their home town for filling CNG in their respective vehicles.
But on the way to Udaipur, they were fined on the pretext of permit. They are being forced to pay a hefty fine even if they go to the reserve on other roads than the permit road.
After enduring this torture for a long time, when they went to speak to the police officer in the present days they are being ill-treated and due to which they staged a road blockade. Starting from ambulances to common citizens have to face difficulties for a long time due to the road blockade.
However, the state leadership of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, the district leadership and the divisional leadership said they were not aware of the blockade.
According to the police, the organization and the administration will discuss this matter later and take action. The police promised to withdraw the cases against them for the time being. For now, common people were shocked by such role of Auto-Rickshaw Mazdoor Sangh.
