Agartala, February 07, 2023: The eight times MLA from 37-Hrishyamukh assembly constituency and former minister of Left Front government’s regime Badal Choudhury’s 24-year old daughter Barsha Choudhury started campaigning for CPIM-Congress backed candidate Ashok Mitra.

As her father i.e. Badal Choudhury is suffering from old-age ailments, he had intended not to contest in the assembly polls of 2023 and party gave nod to his friend Ashok Mitra to contest from the Hrishaymukh assembly constituency. Mitra is a teacher who received the President’s Retirement Award.

In this assembly constituency, there are 69 booths. After the announcement of CPIM-led Left Front candidates, Barsha created a storm in campaigning for her father’s friend and party’s candidate Ashok Mitra. People had become emotional seeing Chowdhury’s daughter Barsha campaigning ahead of assembly polls at Hrishyamukh.

Appealing the electorates to vote for CPIM at Hrishyamukh AC on Tuesday morning, Barsha said “Not only hopeful, but like other times in this election, the Left candidate will achieve victory with the highest margin of votes in the state.”

Claiming that the winning streak will continue, she said the main mantra of BJP double-engine government is double price of goods, double chief ministers and state-wide terrorism. So their chauvinism is clear to people.

Therefore, former minister Badal Chowdhury’s daughter Barsha expressed hope that Ashok Mitra will win from this centre with huge public support.
