LF-Congress candidate Gopal Roy campaigns at Banamalipur; 200% hopeful to win in polls

BY TC News Desk

Agartala, February 07, 2023:  Congress nominated candidate Gopal Chandra Roy supported by the Left Front campaigned in Banamalipur assembly constituency accompanied by CPIM state committee member Amal Chakraborty and good number of Congress and Leftist workers on Tuesday.

Speaking to media persons during the door-to-door campaign on Tuesday morning, CPIM state committee member Chakraborty said “Along with the entire state, people’s response is immensely positive in Banamalipur assembly constituency.”

Taking a jibe on the present BJP-led government, he said “Under the regime of BJP-led government in Tripura, there is no democracy and rule of law, constitution is under attack. The ruling party-led government failed to fulfil the commitments made in ‘Vision Document’. Not only this, the present government had put a ban on the right to speak. And if you speak, your house come under attack, set on fire, pouring poison in the pond, set fire on rubber plantation, women atrocities, etc. The people are desperately waiting for relief from this atmosphere of anarchy.”

“Surprisingly, who is the MLA of 9-Banamalipur assembly constituency? What is his name? The person who won the membership of the assembly had promised to make this assembly constituency as a heaven and residents will be relieved from water-logging. If there is any need for an unit of blood, people are not finding him anymore. Finding no other alternative, people here are calling former Congress MLA Gopal Chandra Roy and CPIM state committee member Amal Chakraborty. After becoming the MLA, he is lost and don’t care after being the Chief Minister of the state”, he added.

Chakraborty said “People will reply to this inconvenience faced by them on February 16 next. Left Front supported Congress candidate Gopal Chandra Roy will win the election.”

Speaking to media persons, Congress candidate Gopal Chandra Roy said “This time people will exercise their franchise like the way devotees throngs into Durga Puja pandels. There is a public outrage against this BJP-led government. We are 200 percent hopeful that we will win with huge margin.”
