Bangladeshi national detained in late-night operation at Jatrapur

Agartala, 24th April 2026:   Jatrapur police successfully detained another Bangladeshi national during a late-night operation on Thursday. Acting on a tip-off, officers apprehended the individual from the KK Nagar area under Jatrapur police station.

Police sources identified the detainee as Mohammad Abdul Baten, son of Kala Mia, a resident of Dhaka, Bangladesh. The operation was carried out jointly by Jatrapur police and Border Security Force (BSF) personnel. Present at the scene were Officer-in-Charge Partha Nath Bhowmik, Sub-Inspector Bijoy Chakraborty, other police staff, and Tripura State Rifles (TSR) jawans.

Authorities confirmed that Abdul Baten is being interrogated to determine how and why he entered Indian territory. A detailed investigation into the matter has been initiated.
