Agartala, 27th April 2025: The cultural world mourns the loss of Ajoy Ghosh, a 25-year-old Baul singer, whose sudden death has left the community in shock. The incident took place at Prashanta Saha’s residence in Ramakrishna Palli, near the Bishramganj Fire Service.
Ajay, who lived in a rented house with his mother Karuna Ghosh began vomiting blood unexpectedly yesterday evening. Despite immediate medical attention and being rushed to GBP Hospital in Agartala, he tragically passed away late that night. His mortal remains was cremated last night at Battala Crematorium.
The grief was palpable this afternoon as Karuna Ghosh along with her relatives and neighbors lamented the irreplaceable loss. Sampa Deb, a neighbor and a member of the Bishramganj Gram Panchayat tearfully recalled her bond with Ajoy. “He used to call me mother too. I can’t accept his death,” she said, her voice quivering with emotion.
