Agartala, 31st July 2026 : Education Secretary Dr. Milind Dharmarao Ramteke urged school heads to establish themselves as role models and leaders for their students and to work with utmost dedication and responsibility towards improving the quality of education.
South Tripura District Education Office, on 31.07.2026 arranged an important review meeting at Mukut Auditorium, Santirbazar, with all Headmasters, Assistant Headmasters, Teachers-in-Charges of State Government managed schools under Santirbazar and Sabroom Sub-divisions, along with all Inspectors of Schools of the district.
Addressing the officers, School Education Secretary Dr. Milind Dharmarao Ramteke urged school heads to establish themselves as role models and leaders for their students and to work with utmost dedication and responsibility towards improving the quality of education. He laid special emphasis on strengthening Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) from Balvatika to Class V and called upon all stakeholders to work collectively to improve students’ learning outcomes.
Highlighting the importance of school inspections, the Secretary stressed the need for regular and effective monitoring of schools. He stated that Block Resource Persons (BRPs) and Cluster Resource Persons (CRPs) must ensure the holistic development of students during their regular visits to their assigned schools and hold their responsibilities effectively. He further instructed the Inspectors of Schools to remain vigilant in monitoring the performance of BRPs and CRPs and to conduct regular inspections of schools to oversee all academic activities.Secretary also emphasized the importance of sports and physical activities in the overall development of children. He mentioned that sports play a vital role in building a healthy body, self-confidence, discipline, teamwork, and leadership qualities among students. He also briefed the participants on the proposed five-day school system and the transfer policy.
Director, Elementary Education, Dr. Samit Roy Chowdhury urged all education officers to ensure the effective implementation of the NIPUN Tripura Mission, strengthen pre-primary education, promote class-appropriate learning, and encourage activity-based pedagogy. He instructed that every school should maintain a well-equipped NIPUN Corner and ensure its regular use during classroom teaching learning process. He further emphasized that Headmasters and Headmistresses should visit the primary section of their schools and provide all necessary academic support. He also directed to ensure accurate and timely submission of UDISE+ data.
Among others present at the meeting were the Additional District Magistrate, South Tripura, District Education Officer Dilip Chandra Das, Officer on Special Duty (OSD), Directorate of Elementary Education Abhijit Samajpati, OSD, South Tripura District Education Office Kamal Debbarma, Jiban Das, and others.
District Education Officer Dilip Chandra Das delivered the welcome address. Various important issues related to school education were discussed in detail during the meeting, and necessary directions were issued to further enhance the quality of education across South Tripura district.
