Agartala Aug 6: Bengali student youth society held a protest rally , alleging of poor condition of education and health system of the state. On Saturday, the workers of Bengali Chhatra Yuva Samaj staged a protest program in front of the Amara Bangali state office in Shivnagar.
They alleged that the situation of people in Tripura has become extremely terrible now after the establishment of the BJP-led double-engine government at the Center and in the state. Education, health services has completely collapsed. Due to the shortage of teachers, teaching and learning process is severely affected. According to the government announcement, there are about 15 thousand vacant posts of teachers in various schools but the govt is yet to recruit adequate number of teachers.
Same is the situation in other departments including health department. But the government is not taking any initiative to recruit. Bengali Chatra Yuva Samaj demanded to fill the vacancies in the state immediately, bring the prices of life-saving medicines including cooking gas, petrol and diesel under control, legally take strict steps to prevent drug addiction, said Gautam Dev, secretary of the state committee of Bengali Chhatra Yuva Samaj.
