Bhasha Diwas & International Millets Year celebrated at Central Sanskrit University, Ekalavya Campus

Agartala, December 11: Bhasha Diwas was celebrated at Central Sanskrit University, Ekalavya Campus on Monday at its campus premise. On this occasion, various kinds of competitive cultural events were organized in which students delivered their presentations in their mother tongue.

This event was presided over by Prof. B.P.M Srinivas, Director I/c of Central Sanskrit University, Ekalavya Campus. In his address, Prof. Srinivas opined that importance of mother language is truly reflected in the National Education Policy-2020 and such kinds of events as mandated by Govt. of India will prove conducive in promoting and preserving local languages at large. Besides this, a special lecture series in various local languages was conducted in which Dr. Binapani Chanda delivered a lecture in Bangla, Dr. Apurba Sharma in Assamese, Dr. Swarga Kumar Mishra in Odia & Dr. Brahma Nand Mishra in Hindi respectively.

Further, International Millets Year was also celebrated on 11-12-2023 on the occasion of which Prof. BPM Shrinivas, Director I/c chaired the session and imbued students about the nutritious importance of millets. Dr. Tapan Kumar Maity, Principal of Agriculture College of Tripura as Chief Guest opined that millets will be a good food alternative in future and will address the issue of malnutrition in an effective way especially in developing countries. All the staff and students of the campus remained present on these two events.
